Archna Sahay | Lessons from GREATPHL
As someone who immigrated to the United States at age 5, Archna Sahay hasn’t had the easiest time climbing the ranks as a female of color in the finance world. But despite obstacles, she’s accomplished quite a bit in her career.
Archna was the talented Director of Entrepreneurial Investment for the City of Philadelphia along with DreamIt (a digital health and urban tech accelerator) and Morgan Stanley. She serves on the board of the Welcoming Center & Women-Led Cities, and accepted a position as Senior Consultant with Jeremy Nowak until his untimely passing earlier this year.
In this GREATPHL talk, Archna explores what it means to leave a legacy, how a Philly superstar became her mentor, and how he gave her a platform to use her voice. She speaks on mentorship, the legacy of public service, and the next generation of Philadelphia leadership.
“I refuse to have my legacy be poverty.”
As Philadelphians, how might we as a community come together to do the work? How can we leave a legacy of leading Philadelphia out of its 26% poverty rate?
